Clover Kids 4-H Club Reports

We continued working on our meeting structure this month.  It went very smoothly!

Meeting topics centered arount the Carnival and Variety Show and Fruit Sales.   We will provide a game and two gift cards as a club donation to the Carnival Bingo game.   Our club sold $110 in raffle tickets for the Carnival.  We also had $489 in fruit sales.  Way to go club!

We also discussed some ideas for our Community Service project.

 The lesson / activity centered arount setting the table for dinner and the importance of sitting down together as a family for dinner.

This was our first official meeting that was led by our youth!  It was a success!  We had 8 members, 2 group leaders, and 4 parents present at this meeting.

Raffle tickets for the Carnival and Fruit Sales forms were distributed.  We discussed bingo prizes and cake / pie donations for the Carnival.

 Our activity / lesson centered about Caring Communication from "Exploring the Treasures of 4-H".   The activitiy focused on the structure and meaning of the Thank You Note.

Officers for the next meeting were chosen and Cloverbud duties were assigned.

Happy New Year!

We are back on track with our first meeting of the new calendar year!  We had 8 members, 2 leaders, and 4 parents present.  Our Roll Call topic of this meeting was (of course!) Our Favorite Christmas Present.

Our meeting took on a more formal structure this time.  With the meeting minutes reviewed, a motion made to approve them, a second and a vote.  We followed suit with the Treasury report.

Old Business:

Officers were elected for the February meeting.

4-H Council meeting is Monday, January 29th at 6:00 PM.

Variety Show / Carnival Booth:  March 31, 2007.  We discussed attending the activity this year, to see how things are done so that we can participate next year.  We need to provide three Bingo prizes as a club for the carnival.  Each family is also asked to donate a cake or non-refigerated pie for the Cake Walk.

We have received our Charter as an official 4-H club

Lesson / Activity

Who Am I and What is My Job?  Each child visited several stations that were set up with various articles related to people's jobs.  They completed a list of what each job was.  Discussion...

November 4th, 2006

Our second club meeting was held at the Lodoen Community Center.  We had 5 members, 2 leaders, and 2 parents / visitors present at this meeting.

Project books were distributed.

Our lesson was "More Alike Than Different" from the Exploring the Treasures of 4-H project.  The children's bodies were traced on a large piece of paper.  Each child cut pictures from magazines to glue on their outline to make a collage of things and people that interested them.  They also drew pictures of their choice on the collages.

The activity discussion centered around what things were alike and different on each collage and why it is important to learn about and accept differences in people.

 Calendar of Events:

November 18th is the Mystery Holiday Workshop.  Stations are set up for the kids to make craft prjects to use for Christmas gifts for teachers, grandparents, parents, siblings, etc.  

January 29th is the 4-H Council meeting.

March 31 is the Variety Show / Carnival   Each group participates by doing a game booth, performing a skit, and selling raffle tickets.

August 31, 2007 is the end of the Club year.  Project books must be complete and turned in.

October 14, 2006

We had our first official club meeting at the Lodoen Community Center.   We had 7 members present, 2 leaders, and 7 parents/ visitors present at our first meeting.

 Our primary focus at this meeting was business related.  Our biggest task was to vote on a time for our new club.   We came up with about 50 different ideas, narrowed it down to the top three, and then voted on our favorite.  The choice was the Clover Kids 4-H Club.

We also set up a treasury account for our club to be used for lesson supplies and other needs.  Each family contributed $10.00 to the fund.

 Registration forms were completed and turned in.

The group activity was a game of BINGO using words related to "Citizenship".

This website is under construction.  My intent is to provide easy access to information about our club for our members.  I am open to any suggestions regarding information club members would like to see on our new website.
